Diamond Sharp
Diamond Sharp is a poet and essayist from Chicago. Her work has appeared in New York Magazine, New York Times, among others. Diamond is an alumna of Wellesley College and received her MFA in Creative Writing from Pratt Institute. She currently lives in Brooklyn.
The impact of poetry and the spoken word club
Spoken Word Club was the catalyst for my current career as a poet. The experiences I had in Spoken Word Club led me to other youth poetry organizations and more importantly, allowed me to make connections with other peers interested in poetry. I don’t think I’d have the career I have now if it weren’t for those early experiences in SWC.
